Privacy Policy
Scrier ("we", "us", "the app") is a stock-pick journaling app published by Charles Bushrow. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights over it.
What we collect
- Email address. When you sign up. Used to authenticate you and to send transactional email (confirmation links, password resets).
- Display name. Shown to other users in groups you join.
- Profile photo (optional). Shown to other users in groups you join.
- Pick data. Tickers, position types, theses, target prices, horizons, and the timestamps and prices our server snapshots when you submit a pick.
- Comments and reactions on picks.
- Group memberships and group icons (if you create or own a group).
- Push notification tokens. If you grant notification permission, we store your device's Expo push token to deliver alerts about new picks in your groups and replies on your picks.
- User identifier. A unique ID assigned by our authentication provider (Supabase) so we can attribute picks, comments, and reactions to you.
What we do not collect
- We do not collect location.
- We do not collect contacts, photos beyond what you upload as your avatar or group icon, browsing history, search history, or device usage data.
- We do not connect to your brokerage account or read your real-world holdings.
- We do not run third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing.
How we use your data
We use the data above strictly to operate the app: to authenticate you, to show your picks to the groups you've shared them with, to compute and display ROI, and to send the push notifications you've opted into.
Who hosts your data
- Authentication and database: Supabase, processed under Supabase's privacy terms.
- Market data: real-time and end-of-day stock prices come from Tiingo. We send tickers to Tiingo to fetch prices; we do not send any user-identifying information to Tiingo.
- Push notifications: delivered through Expo's push service, which forwards to Apple Push Notification service. The token stored is the device-scoped Expo token.
Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account in-app, we permanently delete your profile, picks, comments, reactions, push tokens, and group memberships within 30 days. Picks you posted to a group remain in that group only as long as your account exists; once your account is deleted, those picks are removed.
Your rights
- You can edit your display name and avatar from the Profile screen.
- You can leave any group from the group screen.
- You can delete your account from the Profile screen. This is permanent.
- You can disable push notifications from iOS Settings or from the per-event toggles in the app.
- If you are a resident of the EU, UK, California, or another jurisdiction with data-protection law, you have additional rights including access, correction, portability, and erasure. To exercise these rights, email scrier.support@gmail.com.
Children
Scrier is not directed at children under 17. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 17. If you believe a child has created an account, email scrier.support@gmail.com and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, notify users in-app on next launch.
